It is so lovely to be back at Trentham School after a term on sabbatical leave. I have missed the children so much at Sunflower Club. I am working hard to meet all the children who started in term 3 and to learn their names.

Today at Sunflower Club we talked about the letter P. We read a book called Pretty Patterns and identified pictures that start with a p sound.

We sorted pictures of children according to the pattern on their clothes. Were they wearing spots, stripes or flower patterns?

Sunflower Club,Tuesday 9 June

As a follow up to last weeks lesson on length, we completed a worksheet where we had to put some pictures in order from shortest to tallest.

There was great concentration cutting out the pictures and making sure we had put them in the right order.

Everyone is getting quite good at cutting out now.

We learn't about Impy Ink and practised writing the letter 'i' on whiteboards. We need to remember to go down when writing the letter 'i' and to put a dot on the top instead of a scribble.

Sam will be five next week. Have fun at your pirate party and see you at school.

Sunflower Club 2 June

We had three new children at the Sunflower Club today.

We read a story about Oscar Orange who works at the dock unloading cargoes of olives, oranges and otters.

The new children made their sunflowers to put up on our wall.

We put pictures of umbrellas, keys and socks in order from the shortest to the tallest. Everyone worked super well with their buddy.

We had great fun today at Sunflower Club. We had a story about Lucy Lamp Light who loves to smile and help people. She sounds just the all the children here today.

We read a story about a bad tempered ladybird. 

Then wecoloured our ladybirds red and black and cut out the wings. It was a bit tricky so the mums and dads helped out.

We worked hard on our cutting activity then we pasted the pictures to complete the pattern.

We made 2 and 3 element repeating patterns.

Sunflower Club

There were problems with displaying the photos from Sunflower Club last week so here they are again. 

The carpet in Room 15 is being replaced this week so we will probably need to have Sunflower Club in Room 13 on Tuesday. See you there

Hooray - Mrs Olliver remembered to take some photos today at Sunflower Club.

We had 5 children and their parents here today. We learn't all about Peter Puppy and the letter P. We know that pencil, paint and penguin all begin with p.

Sam had his first day at the Sunflower Club so he made his sunflower to go on the wall.

We did a cutting activity and sorted all the patterns into three groups - stripes, spots and flowers.

Everyone has a take home folder with some home learning to do. 

We love learning at home with our families.
